Pope's New Ceremoniare is From the Family of Mary

Monsignor Lubomir Welnitz, priest of the Work of Jesus the High Priest (OJSS), is the pope's new ceremoniare.
(RomeLast Sunday, 14 June, the Vatican Press Office announced the appointment of a new papal ceremonial officer. It is the Slovak priest Monsignor Lubomir Welnitz, who has already worked with the Office for the Liturgical Celebrations of the Pope.

Father Welnitz is a member of the Work of Jesus the High Priest (OJSS), which was founded by the Tyrolean priest Paul Maria Sigl and recognized as a priestly association by the Roman Congregation of Clergy in 2008. This association of priests originated from the charity Pro fratribus for the church of the Slovak underground bishop Paul Maria Hnilica (1921-2006), which was persecuted in the Eastern Bloc. Bishop Hnilica was ordained a priest in 1950 because of the Communist persecution of the Church in what was then Czechoslovakia, and in 1951 he was also a bishop.

After the collapse of the  Communist dictatorships, the relief organization was re-established as an international association of the faithful through the cooperation of Bishop Hnilica and P. Sigl under the name Pro Deo et fratribus – Family of Mary and recognized by Rome in 1995. This includes the Order of the Apostolic Sisters of the Family of Mary (FM).

The Association of Priests, the Order of Women and the Lay Community share the Marian, apostolic and missionary charism. The Seminary of the Community is located in Rome, the mother house of the Order of Women in Slovakia. The Community is currently active worldwide in Italy, the Federal Republic of Germany and Austria, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, as well as Uruguay, Kazakhstan and Russia. In Bohemia, they took over the former Servite monastery of Gratzen (Novy Hrady), where Bishop Hnilica died in 2006, and in the Gratzen Eraland, they look after the Marian Shrine of Mary Trost in Brünnl (Dobri Voda), also known as Maria Brünnl, which was exemplarily renovated by the community.
Under the direction of Monsignor Guido Marini, the Master of Ceremonies of the Pope, Father Welnitz is now active with eight ceremonares: Pier Enrico Stefanetti, Diego Giovanni Ravelli, Marco Agostini, Massimiliano Matteo Boiardi, Vincenzo Peroni, Jon Dubina and Fr. Krzysztof Marcjanowicz.

Monsignor Welnitz, born in 1977, studied at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rome, where he received his doctorate in canon law. He then entered the ministry of the Apostolic Penitentiary and was elevated to monsignor under Pope Benedict XVI.

Fr. Welnitz will continue his previous work at the Apostolic Penitentiary as an official and as secretary of Cardinal Grand Penitentiary Mauro Piacenza.

Slovakian Bishops: Catholics Can Not Be Liberal

Bishops reaffirmed their rejection of the legal recognition of homosexual partnerships in Advent Letter

Bratislava (kath.net/KAP) The Catholic bishops of Slovakia have confirmed their negative attitude to the legal recognition of homosexual partnerships in their Advent Letter and have come under media criticism. In the daily newspaper "Dennik N" (weekend edition), for example, the Protestant theologian Ondrej Prostrednik turned against an episcopal "rhetoric of conflict and battle that does not strengthen Europe, but weakens it and makes it vulnerable to the most diverse forms of extremism."Prostrednik, who teaches at Comenius University, had criticized in August the negative attitude of his church (Lutheran Church of Slovakia / EKAB) in the partnership question, after which the church leadership had deprived him of permission to teach at the Faculty of Theology.

The Pastoral Letter of the Catholic Bishops was published on the 3rd of December. Both the choice of themes and the tone were critically examined. The pastoral letter can be understood both as a summary of the previous positions of the Church and the Church policy guidelines for the next few years, thus the tenor of the comments.

Based on the responsibility of the faithful, as outlined by the Second Vatican Council, the bishops refer to the "effort for the harmony between our lives with the grace of membership in the Catholic Church of Christ, from the beginning, as a 'Catholic Identity'". The Church is aware of its "human weaknesses" but is "deeply convinced that it is precisely the community founded by Christ Himself that is most visible". For Catholics, Mass on Sunday and the required holy days and the reception of the sacraments are a matter of course.

Today, however, the Church must "fight for values that seemed natural for centuries". The country is already "heavily marked by the millstone of the abortion law". The Catholic identity also contradicts "liberalism, which relativizes the fundamental human and natural values".

Incompatible with the Catholic identity, however, is also "a form of patriotism that raises the people beyond any other values," as well as racism and anti-Semitism. (There are some one must not offend at all costs.) From all this we can see that "in no election are we allowed to support candidates whose attitudes on fundamental issues contradict our beliefs," it said.

Pope Francis Addresses Slovakian Bishops -- Many Words Without MuchIntegrity

Edit: Catholic Culture likes to cling to these kinds of addresses as though they contradict the very highly documented and public acts and omissions of this papacy. Here, Pope Bergoglio urges Slovakian Bishops to stand fast to their Catholic identity during their recent ad limina visit as very hopefully offered by Jeff Mirus at Catholic Culture.

Their ability to tolerate two or more contradictory propositions on principles they claim to hold dear, uttered by a person they regard as above all reproach is truly a feat to behold.
[Catholic Culture] In an address given to Slovakia’s bishops during their ad limina visit, Pope Francis called upon Slovaks to “maintain their cultural identity and heritage of ethical and spiritual values,” a heritage that is “closely linked to the Catholic tradition.” [Empty words, since +Bergoglio himself is advocating the mass imigration which even threatens the Vatican itself.]
The nation of 5.4 million is 74% Catholic.
“I very much appreciate how much you are doing on behalf of the family,” the Pontiff continued, nine months after the nation’s bishops urged voters to define marriage as the union of a man and a woman and to bar adoption by homosexual couples. [Why does Mirus have to fill in the blanks for him?]
Noting that youth are tempted to “hedonism, mediocrity, and instant success,” the Pope told the bishops that young people “need to have from you clear instructions about doctrine and morals, to build, in the city of man, the city of God.” [The bishops have their work cut out for them when +Bergoglio makes his own pronouncements appearing to legitimize and encourage the "homosexual lobby".]
“In our day, it is even more necessary to illuminate the path of people with Christian principles, seizing the opportunity the current situation offers to develop a new evangelization, which, with a new language, makes it easier to understand Christ’s message,” he added. [I shudder to think. He wants to add Pelagian confusion even to things Christ was clear about.]

Pope Francis also called upon the bishops to welcome migrants “in a spirit of charity and respect for the human person, in the context of a necessary observance of legality.”

Pope Backs Efforts to Defend Family in Slovakia

Edit: why is this even an issue?
[Huffington Post] As Slovakia gears up for a referendum on same-sex unions this coming weekend, Pope Francis gave his blessing to the country's efforts to block marriage and adoption rights for gay couples.

Speaking at his weekly general audience on Wednesday, the pope said: "I greet the pilgrims from Slovakia and, through them, I wish to express my appreciation to the entire Slovak church, encouraging everyone to continue their efforts in defense of the family, the vital cell of society."

Alliance for the Family, a Slovak conservative group, has gathered more than 400,000 votes -- representing nearly 10 percent of the country’s electorate, according to Reuters -- on a petition calling for a national vote that could block any future efforts to overturn Slovakia's existing ban on same-sex marriage.

Slovakia: Constitutional Amendment Against "Gay Marriage" -- Historic Alliance Between the Left and Right

(Bratislava) in Slovakia an historic agreement between the political left and the political right has been made. "We will anchor in the Constitution that marriage can exist only between a man and a woman," says Jan Figel, Vice President of the Slovak Parliament. "It is a response to the attempt to seek to impose gender theory on us.".
Last 24 February  the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico and the Christian Democrat, Jan Figel (KDH) agreed on a constitutional amendment. The two leaders of the Socialists and Christian Democrats were considering to establish  marriage as a union between a man and a woman in the Constitution. "The constitutional amendment prohibits the legalization of marriage between same sex people," said Figel.

Hidden Gender Theory in EU and UN Documents

The initiative to protect marriage by the Constitution is based on a request of the KDH. The initiative is a response to the growing pressure to try to impose the gender theory Slovakia. "The initiative is a response to the proposal to implement the strategy for the enforcement of human rights in Slovakia, where the gender theory is hidden," said Figel. However, a true human right of marriage is between a man and a woman. In order to protect this human right, Figel has been trying for months to get a two-thirds majority in Parliament. "We want that marriage  is no longer called into question  or threatened," said the KDH politician.
This opinion is shared by a clear majority of the population. The breakthrough came when the Socialist Prime Minister, decided to to stick to the population and not the pressure exerted by the EU and the UN. Fico is applying straight to the office of the people's elected president.

Agreement Between the Christian Democrats and Socialists

Already in 2012, the electoral program of the socialist-led government focused on supporting the family. Even then,   marriage was enshrined as a union between a man and a woman in the election program. With this line, which is different from that of the socialist president of France, Fico had success to date.
The Eastern Central Europe thus defines an open counter-position to the west. Croatia decided in a referendum to enshrine marriage as a union between a man and a woman in the Constitution. Romania recently rejected "gay marriage". Slovakia wants also to change  its Constitution in this sense. The corresponding amendment has been introduced by Fico.

On 29 March first vote in Parliament

In 2010, the then center-right coalition had proposed the drawing up of marriage in the Constitution. However, due to the resistance of the Liberals it did not happen. Now an agreement on the block boundaries could be reached between the Socialists and Christian Democrats. 40 out of 150 MPs had already signed the original KDH request.First, the behavior of the socialist deputies remained unclear.
In order to pass a judicial reform, Fico needed the votes of the Christian Democrats. In the negotiations for the consent agreement was reached on the constitutional amendment in favor of marriage and family. This Figel can currently expect 96 votes for his initiative. He hopes, however, still be able to win more MPs for the change.

Main Opponents: Liberal, Big Media and Homo-network

"The Liberal Party, as well as all major media in the country," remain the main opponents of the constitutional amendment, There is also the international aberro network that exerts pressure against the agreement. The first parliamentary vote takes place on 29 March, the decisive vote in May. "Maybe before the European elections," said Figel.
Figel is of the opinion that the former Communist countries are more sensitive to ideological monopolization. It can not be that a certain ideology should be imposed on all. "We have a clear idea of marriage and family," said Figel, "and we do not want to be lectured to from outside".

Slovakia: Jan Orosch New Archbishop of Trnava

Edit: ++Bezak was bad news. He was one of the bishops Pope Benedict got rid of. There’s an interesting video of him in hipster clothes, a black turtleneck, sport coat, hosting a Jazz concert in the sanctuary of a Church. It pretty much symbolizes his tenure in one of Slovakia’s most important Catholic diocese. Despite the evidence presented against him, he still has a loyal following of 68ers, the kind of people who don’t see how a blue jeans ecclesiology is a problem.

Followers of the deposed predecessor Bezak have protested silently - Francis in the decree of appointment: Orosch is the right bishop, with "gifts of mind and heart" bishop to take over the administration of the Archdiocese of Trnava

Trnava (kath.net / KAP) The "Slovak Rome", the cathedral city of Trnava (Trnava) will have a new archbishop: On Friday, the former administrator and Bishop January Orosch (photo) was officially inaugurated. In addition to the Slovak bishops - including the pre-predecessor Oroschs, Jan Sokol - bishops from the Czech Republic, Ukraine and Hungary will also be present. The inauguration will be led by the Chairman of the Slovak Bishops' Conference, Archbishop Stanislav Zvolensky. Located approximately 130 kilometers east of Vienna, Trnava has about 70,000 inhabitants and is also called the "Slovak Rome" for the many beautiful churches in the Old Town.

However, the followers of Orosch’s predecessor, Robert Bezak, have caused a stir under a banner, leading the procession, including bishops and clergy. The banner bore the inscription “Always our Archbishop." The followers of the Bishop, compelled into retirement on July 2012 by Benedict XVI. Bezak had announced in advance to show their solidarity with him during the ceremony to "discretely". Some of them called the bishops to “shame".

The reasons for Bezak's dismissal are still not public today. [More heads should roll like this one.] Cardinal Marc Ouellet, who played a role as Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops in Rome for the dismissal of Robert Bezaks, is a guest of the General Assembly of the Conference of European Bishops' Conferences (CCEE) scheduled for the 3rd to 6th of October in Bratislava.

Sponsored by the Apostolic Nuncio in Slovakia, Mario Giordana, Pope Francis says in the decree, that he was convinced that Orosch was the right bishop, with "gifts of mind and heart" appointed to the administration of the Archdiocese to take Trnava.

During his sermon, partially given in Hungarian, the new archbishop then focused mainly on the role of the bishop as a shepherd. "In the Church there are many problems," said Orosch, but this could not be named without also talking at the same time about "the crisis in society.”

Lay Catholics consider Katholikentag

Previously, it was 28 August for a meeting of representatives of the Slovak lay movement with representatives of the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZDK) arrived in Freising. In a report of the Press Office of the Slovak Bishops’ Conference, the lay Slovak Catholics would consider holding a day after the German model. The "regular dialogue between the bishops and the laity" is an interesting approach in order to "discuss the current situation in the Church and society.” [Nuff said]

Many Catholic Youth in Europe Tend to Abstinence

Genf (kathnews/CF)  Youth from the ages of 15 in Israel are far less sexually active than those of the same age in Europe.  The Jewish State showed in a comparable study on this subject that included 35 countries, was among the last places, namely 32.  The international questionnaire was commissioned in connection with the World Health Organization.  From the study, which was led in Israel by Doctor Yossi Harel Fisch and Dr. Iron Buneil of Bar-Ilan University, it says that compared to the youth of 1998, today's youth have become more conservative:  Of the 874 Jewish boys and girls 18,5% said that they had had sexual intercourse.  14 years ago they were still 27%.  The highest early age to have sexual intercourse -- according to this international Report -- were the youth of Greenland:  there it showed that 59.8% had already experienced sexual intercourse at 15.  In addition the 2nd place and 3rd places were also northern European countries:  Denmark (37.7%, Sweden (31.6%), even including Austria (31.6%) -- with England in 5th place with 31 %.

The Highest Abstinence Rate in Years: in two Catholic Countries

After the lower "Sex-numbers" come after Israel, the Ukraine (18%), Poland (15.7%) and Slovakia (12.7%).   With that indicates two Catholic countries (Poland, Slovakia) have the highest abstinence levels among their boys and girls -- or to put it another way:  the lowest sex quotas.  -- Not to forget the religiously stamped Ukraine.  Already, in the past two years the results of this international report was similar:  even then Slovakia and Poland showed the highest levels of abstinence.  The youth in Germany belonged according to a report in 2010 among the most "abstinent" countries (it sits in the lowest area, respectively the 11th from the last place: directly after Portugal).

Back to Israel and the most recent study.   The director of the Department for the Prevention of Psychosocial Damage in the Education Ministry, Hilla Segal, explained to the site "Ynet":  "We have become attentive that parents and teachers in Israel are increasingly showing a more conservative mind."  The expert continued:  "Sex in early ages leaves emotional and psychic damage.  It is increasingly clear that youth in these ages are often under pressure to engage in sexual relationships and  this harms them later."

"Silent Heroes" -- Museum for the Crimes and Victims of Communism in Bratislava

(Bratislava) In Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, in what was once the old Pressburg,   the Museum of the Crimes and Victims of Communism was opened.  It follows in important part of the "puzzle of remembrance", which several cities of the former East Bloc include.

The museum project can be approached as Slovakia deals with its recent past.  The old Communist cadres and their late adepts are still active also after 23 years since the end of their power.  The museum project was publicly proposed  by Silent Heroes an organization of former political prisoners and in 2010 by a forum of Christian societies.  The project was supported by the Slovakian Minister Iveta Radicova.  The Christian Democrat stood for parliamentary elections in March of 2012.  She wanted the museum to be built even by the government, in order to lend it a formal and visible status.  In the election, the center-left parties won and the museum had to stand on its own feet without government funding.

Christians Keep Alive the Memory of the Real Crimes of Socialism

On 16 November, the symbolic date which is reminiscent for the Slovaks of the non-violent "revolution" of 1989, marked the "temporary" opening of the museum. The official opening is planned for March 2013. The premises for the museum were provided by the University of Health and Work, whose Rector Vladimir Krčméry, a nephew of Silvester Krčméry, was one of the leading figures of the underground church during the Communist dictatorship where work could only be done under the most difficult conditions in secret, in "silence".

Rector Krčméry presented the museum which supports the vast attic of the building is available, which formerly housed the nursing school where the Blessed Sister Zdenka Scheling had been trained. Schelingová was entered into the long line of those who fell victim to Communism.

"We will endeavor to get a bigger space, but until then we will make the best possible use of the space available to us," said museum director Frantisek Neupauer, who is also chairman of the Association Silent Heroes. Neupauer was already an employee of the Slovak Institute of National Remembrance. Neupauer is constantly on tour for his museum collection. At the end of an interview the journalist of Czech Radio even gets out his wallet and gives Neupauer a donation.

The Museum is Concerned with the Communist Coup of 1948 to the End of the East Bloc of 1989

In the museum the period is represented by the communist coup in 1948 until the collapse of the communist dictatorship in 1989.  It focuses on the personal stories of many "Silent Heroes" who served the resistance to the dictatorship. It looks way through the city leading to the sites of oppression. In the archive of the Association Silent Heroes the cases of 70,000 "silent" victims are documented, whose names are hardly known today, "but which were characterized by their human greatness because of their sense of justice and the totalitarian regime they resisted. Each of them has helped that we have returned to democracy," said Neupauer. The medium-term goal of the museum is to document and totalitarian regimes outside Europe such as Cambodia.

In showcases, original pieces are seen, which were made by political prisoners in detention. For example, a puppet of the Good Soldier Svejk was made by prisoners in the uranium mines in northern Bohemia from wood chips and bread. The Federation of Former Political Prisoners, whose chairman Anton Srholec support the museum project with great commitment represents, more objects.

New Left-wing Government  won't give a cent for Museums, because there are "already quite a lot" of Museums

There is quite a different sound coming from the new left-wing government. Culture Minister Marek Maďarič, a former Communist, which occurs today in the Communist successor SMER stated already that the new government will notgive the museum "a penny" because in Slovakia "already are a lot of museums."

The memory of the Communist dictatorship and its perpetrators is not wanted by the new government. The attempt to cover up the suffering of decades, oppose the club Silent Heroes and the federal government of former political prisoners. They have left the Catholic tradition, where memory is more important than an abstract desire to be "emancipated" constantly from something. Each according to the requirements of his own past, where emancipation will be mere forgetfulness and coverup.

News Reports

German Submission Bishops Praise the World

Germany. The German Bishops have could have taken something from the Conciliar Fathers from other continents, something about "fear of the world" -- which is currently pulverizing the Church in Germany.  This is what Archbishop Robert Zollisch of Freiburg said to 'Katholischen Nachrichtagentur' over the World Bishops' Synod  closing on Sunday.  There were positions given about "the hostile world, from which we must be detached".  The German Church-tax Bishops are opposed, rather "going to the world".

Bishops Against Homosexual Depravity

Slovakia.  The Family Council of the Slovakian Bishops' Conference has asked the Parliament to vote against the privileging of homosexuality.  The Council warns that the homosexually disturubed  will lead to a "civil partnership in the law".  Homosexuality must not be put at the same level with a Papa-mama-baby-marriage.  The homosexually disturbed stand "in complete opposition to the sanctity of sexuality between husband and wife in marriage".  St. Paul has already addressed the loan which is due from homosexuals because of their aberration. The position recalled antique Rome, which fell because of its own immorality.

Wild Reactions

Germany.  On October 30th the former protestant Minister Andreas Theurer and his wife converted to the Church.  This was reported by the Lutheran news 'edp'.  Actually the two wanted to convert today on "Reformation Day", October 31st.  Actually that would have been felt by Protestants as a "monstrous provocation", explained Theurer.  Because of "wild reactions" the conversion was to take place on Monday.

The Poles Warn -- the Germans Downplay

Poland.  The website of the Archdiocese of Warsaw has warned against "Satanic practices", which will corrupt the youth on the so-called festival of Halloween.  It has spread occultism and sorcery.  On the other hand, Archbishop Robert Zollitsch has said on his Archdiocesan website that Halloween is next to the "carved  faces in pumpkins at scary parties" allegedly increases interest in the All Saint's Day and All Soul's Day feasts.  There is a time to have a "collective harvest wonder", he insisted.

Euphemisms About Mass Apostasy

Austria.  The decline of Christians in Europe is dependent above all on the decreasing numbers of births.  So the Old Liberal Vienna Cardinal Christoph Schoenborn took his own responsibility for this massive decline in the Church from the table, for the Church-tax News 'kathpress'.  A connection between the decline of births and the allowance by the Bishops of artificial contraception in the Mariatroster Declaration [Austrian Bishops rejected 'Humane Vitae' in 1968, although he was quick to excuse it early in September.] was not made by the Cardinal.   There is no cause for his resignation -- he smoothed over the problem beautifully.

Old Liberal Archbishop of Tyrnau Dismissed

Edit: some good news along with the bad.

From the clear blue sky:  no one knew what he brought to the dignity of his office.   But apparently money was involved.
Cathedral of Tyrnau

(kreuz.net)  Pope Benedict XVI has dismissed Archbishop Robert Bezak (52) from Tyrnau in Slovakia.

The Archbishop was appointed in February 2009 to his office.

The 66,000 population city of Tyrnau lays in western Slovakia -- north east of the capital of Bratislava.

The Vatican demanded that Msgr Bezak vacate his office and leave the Archdiocese.

Announcement at Sunday Mass

Officially, there is no reason for the dismissal of the Archbishop.

Yesterday, Msgr Bezak read a letter in the Cathedral of Tyrnau, in which he announced the Vatican's dismissal.

He also had received a letter from the Nuncio in Slovakia, Archbishop Mario Giordana.  In that the Nuncio demanded his resignation.

Many Questionable Signs

Msgr Bezak claimed to the faithful not to know why he was being dismissed.

The Vatican had asked him not to talk to the media bosses.

The letter from the Vatican speaks of "serious complaints".

A speaker from the Slovakian Bishops Conference refused to give a statement.

Darling of the Media

Msgr Bezak suspected that a reason for his dismissal was his criticism of his predecessor, Archbishop Jan Sokol (78).

Msgr Sokol was, because of his courageous defense of Catholic behavior, very much hated by the media bosses.

The naming of Msgr Bezak was greeted, on the other hand, by the media bosses with jubilation.

Earlier Complaints Against His Predecessor

Msgr Bezak entered the Redemptorists in 1979.

He was ordained a priest in 1984.

Pope Benedict XVI named him as Archbishop of Tyrnau on the 18th of February 2009.

At the beginning of March the newly appointed Bishop had criticized the previous management of the Archdiocese for financial irregularities to the Vatican.

Msgr. Sokol and his Financial Director challenged the charge.

The Resistance Formed

In February of 2012 the Vatican ordered a visitation.

The object of the investigation was the "management of ecclesiastical goods" as well as "personnel matters".

The evidence was not then published.

The administrator of the Archdiocese is the present General Vicar, Auxiliary Bishop Jan Oorosch.

This evening, supporters of the Archbishop are going to stage a protest march in the city center of Tyrnau.
